Commissioned Research

Commissioned Research in 2008

Calls for expressions of interest in commissioned studies for 2008 will be made shortly.

Commissioned research for 2008 will be driven by Combat Poverty’s strategic priorities and by identified stakeholders’ (including policymakers’) needs.

A key objective in commissioning external bodies to conduct research is to ensure high quality, policy-relevant findings that inform the overall work programme, contribute to the evidence base, provide policy advice and where applicable generate thought leadership for poverty and related research.

Commissioned studies will be managed by research personnel from Combat Poverty. A Research Advisory Committee, established by the Board of Combat Poverty to advise and report on research matters, will have a key input into the design and assessment of commissioned studies. Most studies will have a steering committee, made up of external stakeholders, to advise and monitor the research.

For more information on Combat Poverty's research programme, contact Kasey Treadwell Shine, Head of Research and Policy at 01 602 6627/kasey.shine@combatpoverty.ie.
